Make Your Hosting More
Environmentally & Globally Friendly
Our “Green” perspective means that the practises and policies we follow ensure that your sites are greener, and that we can all work together to reduce the environmental impact of hosting.
Powered by 100% Renewable Energy
Why Do You Need Green Hosting?
The internet is expensive to power: it consumes over 400 terawatt-hours per year. While the footprint of a single website is small, it all adds up: the internet accounts for approximately 3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions. This is comparable to what the global airline industry produces.
You can be confident that your websites are stored on servers that do not contribute to climate change by using our green hosting. The Green Web Foundation‘s sustainability checks will be passed by sites hosted on HostGrower.
100% Green Hosting Provider
Our “Green” Credentials Imply That The Practises And Policies We Adhere To Ensure That Your Sites Are Greener, And That By Working Together, We Can Reduce The Environmental Impact Of Hosting.
Green Energy
We are one of the first hosting companies to use 100% Renewable Energy rather than just carbon offsets. This entails establishing a direct link between our data centres and the power they consume in order to ensure that it is derived entirely from renewable sources.
Green Ethos
Our ethos and green credentials ensure that when you host with us, you are making a small but significant contribution to the Fight Against Climate Change. Our team has the option to participate in a "cycle to work" programme, and we run a paperless office.
Green Data Centre
PuE (Power Usage Effectiveness) is the ratio of energy used by our data centre to energy used to deliver services. The PuE is higher in less efficient data centres, and ours is typically 1.2 (very efficient).
HostGrower & Ecologi
Planting trees and funding global climate catastrophe solutions
HostGrower is delighted to collaborate with Ecologi to promote a climate-friendly workforce, lower our carbon footprint, and assist in the planting of trees throughout the world. As part of our collaboration, we strive to plant a tree and offset some CO2 emissions per employee each month.
Planting trees is widely seen as one of the most effective measures for combating the climate issue and keeping global temperatures from going over 1.5 degrees Celsius. They are also critical in averting environmental collapse. Each month, Ecologi and its relationship with The Eden Reforestation Projects help plant millions of trees all over the world.
Ecologi invests in initiatives that reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than our own carbon footprint. Each month, they choose the best CO2 reduction initiatives with Gold Standard certification, ensuring that the highest-rated projects have the most impact.
Green Credentials
Making an effort to be more environmentally friendly
Our Energy Efficient Technology & Platform are at the heart of our green credentials. We don’t, however, rely just on technology to make us, and eventually your hosting, greener and more ecologically friendly. We want our organisation and our staff as a whole to be more eco-friendly through a variety of plans, best practises, and incentives.
We offer our employees the chance to participate in the Cycle to Work Scheme, which not only reduces automobile trips and the emissions they cause, but also improves their health and well-being.
We’re an online corporation; we don’t need paper to go where we’re going! We try to be a Paperless Office by using as little paper as possible. This, of course, saves not just the paper but also the environmental cost of printing.
Reduce, repurpose, and recycle. This goes beyond ensuring that the appropriate garbage (which we attempt to keep to a minimum) gets disposed of in the appropriate bin. We no longer use paper or plastic cups; instead, each employee has their own reusable and refillable drinking vessel.
Helping As A Green Company
Trying to reduce my environmental effect
HostGrower was first and primarily suggested to me for their hosting services. Being environmentally conscious is essential to me. While speaking with their sales staff and inquiring about their green features, I was encouraged that by using them as my hosting provider, I could reduce my environmental effect. It's simply minor details, but they all add up.

Remote Working
Our workforce has the option of working remotely and safely from home. As part of this incentive, HostGrower invested in providing new smart LED illumination for all remote work locations.

Workplace Plants
Everyone has the ability to have a plant on their desk. Plants provide more oxygen, which offsets any pollutants released into the air by new office furniture and creates a cleaner, happier work environment.

CO2 Reduction
If any of our staff members must travel for work, we offset the carbon footprint of their return journey. To reduce our carbon footprint, we've used webinars and remote conferences.
Platform & Energy-Efficient Technology
The most recent hosting technology
Your websites are housed on the most recent and energy-efficient Dell servers, which have SSDs, which consume less power than regular SATA discs used by other hosting companies.
The technology is not just energy-efficient, but the reduced power consumption guarantees quicker processing speeds and lightning-fast access to your data from our complete platform’s 100% SSD hosting.
The most recent hosting technology
Our hosting platform was created with the goal of making the most of available resources while minimising waste. Every component of our hosting platform is designed to be as energy-efficient as possible. When you host your site on our platform, you will be “carbon-reducing.”
You may feel good knowing that you’re making a little impact by hosting on an ecologically friendly platform.
Data Centre PuE
Balancing the need for technology with environmental sensitivity
In essence, the PuE (power usage effectiveness) is the ratio of energy used by our data centre to energy used to deliver its services. PuE is a tool that data centre operators can use to assess the performance of their infrastructure.
The PUE is higher in less efficient data centres, and facilities that require more power will almost certainly have a higher operating cost.
On average, our PuE is 1.2. (very efficient).
